JOHN WALTERS PO 244 born.1780 at Pentrich
EX 17.6.1803 Pentrich. 23 yrs. b.Pentrich. Parents residing under certificate at Holbrook.
(1797) At 17, hired to Robert Milward, farmer, Tibshelf.
then William Hill, farmer, Tibshelf
Benjamin Chambers, gentleman, Tibshelf
James Wright, farmer, Sutton in Ashfield
William Godber, Sutton in Ashfield
Thomas Ridge, when his mother died
then Samuel Sutton Pentrich
Whilst hired by Samuel Sutton, exam, asked for same wage as other man servant William Daville & he consented.
Then hired by Richard Sanders, Greasley,Notts.
and he ran away, but master brought him back by warrent and he served him there,
except for 2 weeks when in service with Ripley Volunteer Infantry on military duty
at Derby in August last and whilst there his master stopped 15s.
15 January 1805 - Married Mary Foster at Pentrich.
Both of Pentrich by Banns. Both illiterate.
