SKEGBY'S SCARLETT RUNNERS

The Scarlet Runners was a nickname for the Skegby Ladies Hockey Team. They wore scarlet tunics.

and formed her fellow hockey players into a choir.
With various commitments, the choir disbanded but was reformed following a reunion c1950.

Irene Higginson became a cherk at the Education Office on Station Road, Sutton

Ina Tongue became a Teacher at Healdswood Boys School.

Norah Rainsbury was daughter of Dr.Rainsbury of Fackley Road, Stanton Hill.

The lady on the left is Olive Kirk b.1894, one of a large family who lived at one time in a stone cottage on Forest Road,
which was demolished and replaced by new buildings close to Milner Street.
The man on the cart to the left is possibly Matthew Pickard who became a local Methodist preacher.
He married Clara Kirk, sister of Olive and they had 11 children. The cart driver is Harry Weston and his wife Clarice Weston is standing next to the cart.
